Challenge Description:
Did you know that before eBay, you could buy things at a live auction? Did you know that they still do them today? Actions to take:
1. Check in the local paper for details of any auctions that are happening in your area. (If there is no mention, check the paper from the nearest large city.) 2. Attend the auction. Go early enough to have a good look around. 3. Purchase something. (Note: you might not want to start at a property or car auction as this could get pricey!) 4. Take a picture of the item and upload it onto your challenge. 5. If you've bagged a bargain or found a treasure, by all means, keep it! If you have found a bargain but don't want to keep it, give it to someone or sell it on eBay! Minimum Requirements for Prizes:
1. A photo of the item you bought, with you stood proudly next to it it!! 2. A diary entry explaining what you bought and why, and what you did with it. |
Ldot´s story
I went to a community fundraiser auction called the Lion's Dream Auction. Most of the items were out of my price range because people weren't really looking for a bargain, but hoping to support a local organization. So, through the silent auction I bought a family day pass to a pioneer village nearby. I plan to take my family there someday in the summer and enjoy the day and probably have a picnic too.
